This will cover practical tips and examples for avoiding biased language and promoting respectful dialogue.
March 8 (Saturday): International Women’s Day Celebration & Panel Discussion. Focus: Highlighting the achievements of women from diverse backgrounds. Featuring a panel of prominent female leaders in various fields. Goal: Inspire and empower women while promoting gender equality.
April 24 (Thursday): Community Outreach Event – “Diversity in STEM Fair.” Focus: Engaging local students (especially from underrepresented groups) in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Goal: To encourage greater diversity in STEM fields and provide opportunities for young people.
June 19 (Thursday): Juneteenth Commemoration & Cultural Celebration. Focus: Honoring the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating African American culture and heritage. Goal: To educate the community about Juneteenth and promote cultural understanding.
August 12 (Tuesday): Online Webinar – “Disability Inclusion in the Workplace.” Focus: Providing practical strategies and resources for creating inclusive workplaces for people with disabilities. Goal: To promote employment opportunities and equal access for individuals with disabilities.
September 20 (Saturday): “Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride & Allyship” Event. Focus: A community event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and promoting allyship. Includes performances, speakers, and networking opportunities. Goal: To foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies.
November 14 (Friday): DiversityFIRST Annual Gala & Awards Ceremony. Focus: Recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to diversity and inclusion. Goal: To celebrate achievements in diversity and raise funds for DiversityFIRST programs.
December 10 (Wednesday): Human Rights Day Roundtable Discussion. Focus: A discussion on current human rights issues, with a focus on how they intersect with diversity and inclusion. Goal: To raise awareness of human rights violations and promote social justice.
